Island Aircraft Services (IAS) is an owner operated, Aircraft Maintenance Facility located at the Eastsound Airport on Orcas Island, Washington. Our 60' by 80' hanger was built in 1997, specifically for IAS and has grown to be a friendly place to be assured that your aircraft will get its TLC. We provide inspections, repairs, welding, engine installations, routine maintenance, and rebuilding of fixed wing aircraft and Helicopters. Besides having qualified FAA certified mechanics, our experienced (more than 35 years) personnel are dedicated and professional technicians. It is true that we "turn wrenches" and "drain oil" and it is also true that we are trained technicians who keep current with the latest information through classroom training and updated manufacturer service and parts information. Our technicians have extensive "hands-on" experience with the prerequisite skills necessary to restore antique aircraft or to maintain GA aircraft; single engine through light twins and small helicopter reciprocating and turbine engines. During a casual visit to our hangar one may find a warbird undergoing maintenance, a fabric aircraft being restored or general aviation aircraft in the midst of an annual inspection. In addition, we are certified installers of Plane Plastics Interiors, Ltd, a CorrosionX Authorized Treatment Center, and distributors of DWG International waterless paint finish and protectant.

		Geoff Schussler, the owner operator, is an A & P, I.A. and an NAAA certified aircraft appraiser. With over 35 years experience on many different types of aircraft, Geoff is a competent troubleshooter for any of your plane's problems. His friendly, honest personality make you aware that your plane will get the best attention it needs.

Wayne Munich is an A&P mechanic and came to the company with extensive electronic experience gained in the Air Force. He is a competent machinist, welder and metalworker. He especially enjoys restoration and repairs.

		Jake Boyd is a retired Delta Captain, and an A&P mechanic. He enjoys being around airplanes whether he is flying them or fixing them.
Peja Schussler, the office manager and most valuable member of the company, retired from her previous work in Education to help keep the office organized, update maintenance schedules, and of course to answer the phone.
		Shanti, our shop dog, is a Golden Retriever who loves to watch the planes take off and land. With her wagging tail, she is the official greeter to all of our customers. Everyone is her friend and she loves the attention.
